Privacy policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Solitaire Cafe (solitairecafe.com) is a free solitaire game you play in your browser. This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have. For questions or requests, write to legal@solitairecafe.com.
- You can play without an account. We don't ask for your email address or other contact details; a leaderboard name is optional.
- Solitaire Cafe doesn't use cookies. Your game and settings are saved in your own browser.
- Solitaire Cafe doesn't show ads at the moment.
- You can turn off usage information at any time in Settings.
On your device
Solitaire Cafe saves your game in progress, settings, statistics, achievements and progress in your browser's storage, so they are there when you come back. This saved copy stays on your device; clearing your browser's data for this site deletes it.
Your browser also keeps a random player code that links your results to your place on the leaderboards. Settings shows it as your recovery code. Keep it private: anyone with it can use your leaderboard name.
What we collect and why
When you play, we collect or receive:
- Game results: how each game you finish or leave turned out, such as time, moves and score. We use them to run the leaderboards, to check that results are genuine, to show game statistics and, unless you turn usage information off, to understand how players play.
- Player profile: a random player id, the leaderboard name you choose (optional) and your approximate country, worked out from your connection or your browser's language.
- Leaderboards are public: anyone can see the name (or "Guest" with a short id) and country of each player listed, with their results.
- Usage information: how the game is used, such as games played and features used, your language, type of device and approximate country, and the site or campaign that brought you here. It is linked to a random id kept in your browser and, once you have a player profile, to that profile. It helps us understand and improve the game. Where the law requires it, we collect it only after you allow it.
- Analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits and measures how fast pages load, without cookies. It records the pages viewed, the referring site, the type of browser and device, and the country.
- Technical data: like any website, our hosting provider processes your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. Solitaire Cafe doesn't store IP addresses.
Your choices
In the European Union, the European Economic Area and a few other places, Solitaire Cafe asks before collecting usage information. Elsewhere it is on by default. Wherever you are, you can turn it off at any time with "Share usage data" in Settings; turning it off deletes the usage information collected under your random id.
Outside the EU and EEA, if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal and you haven't made a choice yourself, usage information stays off.
With usage information off, your results still count on the leaderboards and in the game's overall totals, but we leave them out of our analysis of how players play.
Why we may use it
In the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, data protection law asks for a legal basis for each use of personal information. In the EU and EEA, we collect usage information only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings. For usage information in the UK, and for everything else described here, we rely on our legitimate interests in running the game and its leaderboards, keeping results fair, protecting the site and understanding how it is used.
How long we keep it
- Usage information: 13 months.
- Player profile, game results and leaderboard entries: 2 years after you last play.
- Daily totals that don't identify anyone, such as the number of games played each day, are kept.
Service providers

It may process information outside your country, including in the United States, under data protection agreements with the safeguards the law requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to receive a copy, or to object to or restrict how we use it. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To make a request, write to legal@solitairecafe.com and include the recovery code from Settings, so we can find your information. We answer within one month.
You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
