These terms apply when you use Solitaire Cafe (solitairecafe.com), a free solitaire game you play in your browser. By playing, you agree to them; if you don't, please don't use the site. For questions, write to legal@solitairecafe.com.
- Playing is free and needs no account.
- Play fair: no outside solvers, bots, faked results or extra identities on the leaderboards. We may remove results and names.
- The game, its design, texts and deal lists belong to Solitaire Cafe. Please don't copy them.
- The game is provided as it is, without guarantees.
The game
Solitaire Cafe is free to play. We may change, add or remove features, deals and pages, and we may pause or end the service.
Your game in progress, settings and statistics are saved in your browser, as the privacy policy explains. Clearing your browser's data removes them, and we can't bring them back.
Fair play on the leaderboards
Leaderboards are for games you play yourself. You may not:
- play games that count on the leaderboards with an outside solver, a bot or a script (the game's own hints are fine);
- change or fake the time, moves or anything else the game sends us;
- use more than one player, or someone else's, to appear on a leaderboard;
- use a leaderboard to advertise or to harass anyone.
What we may do
We check every win by replaying it. If we believe these terms were broken, we may remove results, leaderboard entries and names, and keep a player off the leaderboards. You can still play.
Leaderboard names
If you pick a name, it is shown publicly next to your results. Don't choose a name that is offensive, pretends to be someone else, or contains personal details such as an email address or phone number. We may change or remove any name.
Who owns what
Solitaire Cafe, including its software, design, graphics, texts and lists of graded deals, belongs to Solitaire Cafe and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may play the game and share links to it.
Without our written permission, you may not copy, scrape, republish or sell any of it, use it to build another game or service, or show the site inside another site. The rules of Klondike solitaire belong to everyone, and these terms don't claim them.
Using the site
Don't disrupt the site or other players: no automated requests to our servers beyond normal play, no attempts to get around its limits or to reach other players' data, and nothing that puts an unusual load on the service.
No guarantees
We work to keep Solitaire Cafe running well, but it is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. We don't promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that progress, statistics or leaderboards will be kept.
Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, Solitaire Cafe is not liable for indirect losses, or for lost data, progress or rankings, arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, or your rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes with them, and playing after a change means you accept the new terms. Questions: legal@solitairecafe.com.
